A16 – Abbotsford 5 vs Powell River 3

The first period had Abbotsford score at 13:56 with an unassisted goal from #27.  At the end of the period,  the score is Abbotsford 1, Powell River 0.

The second period – At 8:57 Abbotsford scores with the goal from #11 Austin McRae, assisted by #22 Jake Mulder.  They take an ice cleaning break and return only seconds later, at 8:48 Powell River scores with an unassisted goal from #8 Keaton Mastrodonato.  Abbotsford scores again at 4:25 with a goal from #12 Carrett Offereins, unassisted.  At the end of the second period, the score is Abbotsford 3, Powell River 1.

Third period – At 16:17 Cowichan scores to tie the game.  At 14:17 Alberni #18 Connor Sabiston scores and at 8:08 Alberni’s #5 Noah Fatur scored.  There is 43 seconds to play Alberni got the empty net goal – the score is Alberni 4, Cowichan 1.

A14 – Abbotsford 8 vs Oceanside 2

Sunday, Jan. 5th, Game 14 in the “A” Tournament started at 7:45 am on the Weyerhaeuser Arena.

First period had only one goal scored and it was by Abbotsford #8 Justin Hargrave.  The score at the end of the first period, Abbotsford 1, Oceanside 0.

Second period saw Abbotsford score at 19:20 with a goal from #8 Justin Hargrave and at 16:44 teammate #22 Jake Mulder.  Next goal was Abbotsford’s #8 Justin Hargrave (with a Hat Trick) at 15:29.  Oceanside comes on the scoreboard with 2 goals both from #16 Owen McDonald, one of them assisted by #27 Nolan Young.  The score at the end of the second period, the score is Abbotsford 4,  Oceanside 2.

Powell River started the scoring at 11:44 of the first period with a goal from #7 Brett Kinley, assisted by #12 Tyler Carpendale.  Nanaimo scores at 7:48 with a goal from #7 Mattias Del-Monte, assisted by #77 Adam Fulton.  Nanaimo scores again with a goal from #77 Adam Fulton, unassisted.  Score at the end of the 1st, Nanaimo 2, Powell River 1.

Second period, Nanaimo scores the first goal at 18:36 by #77 Adam Fulton, assisted by #12 Cole Pridham.  Powell River returns to score at 17:32 on the goal of #4 Spencer Jamieson, unassisted.  Nanaimo’s turn to score at 14:57 on a goal from #3 Nathan Dyck, unassisted.  Powell River scores at 14:02 on a goal from #19 Fernando Menendez, assisted by #4 Spencer Jamieson.  At 10:51 Nanaimo scores on a goal from #21 Justin Bishop, unassisted.  Powell River scores at 4:43 on a goal from #4 Spencer Jamieson, unassisted. In the first period, Cowichan’s #8 Gus Wilson scores a goal with the assist going to team mate #4 Ryan Whitaker.  At the end of the first period, the score is, Cowichan 1, Powell River 0.

In the second period, Powell River started with their first goal at 19:12 from #11 Jack Long, assisted by #19 Fernando Menendez.  Powell River scores again with a goal from #8 Keaton Mastrodonato, assisted by #7 Brett Kinley.  After 2 periods of play, the score is Cowichan 1, Powell River 2.

Abbotsford scores 5 goals in the first period ahead of North Vancouver.  Goal scorers included two goals from #17 Justin Plett, singles from #8 Justin Hargrave, #7 Joseph Fiscus  and #14 Trent Dixon.  North Vancouver’s #19 Tyler Gagnon scores with an assist from #20 Jonathan Park.  Abbotsford scores one more goal before the end of the period from #22 Jake Mulder.  After the first period, the score is North Vancouver 1, Abbotsford 6.

Victoria scores twice in the first period with goals from #11 Jack Stewart and #15 Thomas Brandwood.  At the end of the first period, Nanaimo 0, Victoria 2.

Nanaimo opens up the second period with a goal from #12 Andrew Yurkiw.  It was followed only seconds later with a goal from Victoria’s #10 Ethan Hersant.  Ethan went on to score 2 more goals in the second period along with a goal from 12 Nathan Bath.  Nanaimo’s #88 Cole Amado scored at the end of the period.  The score after 2 periods of play, Nanaimo 2, Victoria 6.

Second period -Nanaimo scores 3 goals in the period, from #16 Jacolb Demencha, #12 Andrew Yurkiw and #91 Braydon Turnbull.  North Vancouver scored 2 goals, both from #17 Angus Milne.  Second period ended with the score  North Vancouver 3, Nanaimo 7.

First period – Cowichan scored the first 3 goals, starting with the goal from #5 Isaac Tonkin-Palmer, assisted by #8 Gus Wilson.  Next goal was from Cowichan’s #18 Hunter Heita, assisted by #3 Wil Wright.  The third Cowichan goal was scored by #10 Cole Broadhurst.  North Vancouver scores with 3 minutes left in the period with a goal from # 6 Robbie Finlay, unassisted. A3 – Powell River 4 vs N. Van 5

Game 3 in the “A” Tournament started at 12:10 pm January 3 on the Weyerhaeuser Arena

First period is underway.  First goal was at 12:50 Powell River scores with a goal from #17 Garrett Galligos, assisted by #14 Jarod Sistare and #11 Jack Long.  North Vancouver scores at 7:40 with a goal from #10 Joel Woznow, assisted by #27 Dante Chiesa.  At the end of the first period, the score is  Powell River 1, N. Vancouver 1.

North Vancouver takes the lead in the second period with a goal from #10 Joel Woznow, assisted by #12 Spencer Clark.  Powell River takes over the lead on goals from #12 Tyler Carpendale and #7 Brett Kinley (both goals assisted by #8 Katon Mastrodonato.  North Vancouver’s #8 Andrew Cannon scores with an assist from #12 Spencer Clark.  Powell scores at the end of the second period with a goal from #14 Jarod Sistare, assisted by #8 Keaton Mastrodonato.  After 2 periods of play, the score is Powell River 4, N. Game 2 in the “A” Tournament started at 11:30 am January 3 on the Coulson Rink

There was no scoring in the first period.

In the second period, Cowichan’s #2 scores at 17:21 assisted by #18 Hunter Heita.  Nanaimo follows with a goal from #91 Brayden Turnbull, assisted by #77 Adam Fulton.  Cowichan returns to score with another goal from #2, assisted by #9 Brendan Hogg.  Cowichan continues to score with a goal from #12 Tyler Knelson, assisted by #17 Rylie Windsor and #11 Cameron LeSergent.  Cowichan’s final goal is scored by #3 Wil Wright, assisted by #8 Gus Wilson. .  At the end of the second period, Nanaimo 1, Cowichan 4.

There is no scoring in the third period.  The final score, Nanaimo 1, Cowichan 4.

In the second period, Alberni scores 3 goals, starting with #22 Tynan Smyth, assisted by #7 Shay Lee McConnell.  The next goal was scored by #5 Noah Fatur, assisted by #22 Tynan Smyth and #7 Shay-Lee McConnell.  Alberni adds one more goal from #20 Kyle Hodgson, assisted by #5 Noah Fatur.  At the end of the second period, the score is Alberni 4, Oceanside 0.

Oceanside came on the scoreboard with 3 goals, starting with #16 Owen McDonald, assisted by #2 Landon Dziadyck.  Next goal was scored by Oceanside’s #17 Tomas Spink, assisted by #16 Owen McDonald.  Oceanside’s third goal was from #16 Owen McDonald, unassisted. Game 5 in the “B” Tournament starts at 8:00 am January 3 on the Weyerhaeuser Arena

First period saw Nanaimo’s #91 Braydon Turnbull score the first goal of the game.  Nanaimo scores again with a goal from #66 Trevor Wood.  Alberni gets on the scoreboard at 2:43 with a goal from #3 Linden Kailer-Dore.  Nanaimo returns to score with a minute left in the period with the goal from #66 Trevor Wood, assisted by #91 Braydon Turnbull.  The score after one period of play, Alberni 1, Nanaimo 3.

The second period saw Alberni score 3 goals from #74 Cameron McCurdy, #97 Carter Lee and #71 Andrew Check.  Nanaimo ties the score with a goal from #72 Scott Leslie.

No scoring in the third period.  Final Score Alberni 4, Nanaimo 4.

Penalty Summary:  Alberni had 4 penalties for 16 minutes.  Nanaimo had 2 penalties for 4 minutes.
